Student Gallery Open Call

The Student Gallery is an intimate exhibition space located in the AUP Reception Area, dedicated to showcasing micro-installations and wall-based artworks by students across all levels - from Pre-Degree to Postgraduate.

We are now inviting submissions for upcoming exhibition slots in 2026 as part of our open call programme. Whether you're ready to exhibit an existing artwork or want to pitch a new idea, we want to hear from you!

What You Get:

• A exhibition opportunity, curated and supported by MIRROR’s Exhibitions Producer
• Visibility through MIRROR and AUP’s marketing platforms
• Professional curatorial feedback and install support

What You Can Submit:

• Existing works (preferably wall-based)
• Proposals for new works
  (with a portfolio of recent works for context)
   

Gallery Specifications:

• Approx. 167cm (W) x 144cm (H) x 33cm (D)
• Wall-based works strongly encouraged due to spatial limitations
• No power supply available – consider this in your application
• Secure fixings will be provided

All applications are assessed through a fair and inclusive selection process across all Arts University Plymouth departments and levels.

Be ready to provide:

• Your artist statement (max 250 words)
• Artwork proposal or statement (max 500 words)
• Up to 5 images
• Website or social media handle
• Title and medium of the work

We aim to review applications at the start of each month. On rare occasions there may be a slight delay.

Please note that the Student Gallery is not insured for student artwork. If insurance is required, it is the responsibility of the artist to arrange their own cover.

Selection:

Applications will be reviewed by Andy Cluer (Exhibitions Producer)
