Sophie Ingram is an artist based in Devon.
Sophie am interested in the identity of places, and the aesthetic and emotional experience of living or visiting particular locations. She has worked across a variety of media with a particular focus in mark making, line drawing, collage and printing processes.
In a recent body of work entitled ‘Wet Concrete’ Ingram explored the landscape of Plymouth and her love of the architectural and coastal aspects of the city. Through layered textures gathered during regular excursions walking, cycling and swimming, she produced a variety of screen prints. Whilst some take the form of photo-collage, with a sparse use of lines, textures and shapes overlaid with architectural photos and images of the artist, other work is purely abstract. Through this work she expresses her love for this city she has lived in for the past 10 years.
