SHARP is a Queer artist, curator and activist, using photography since the 80s and expanding the medium into film, installation and performance. Within their art practice they are investigating and challenging ideas around the Queer Body through their personal gaze. For Buy Art South West SHARP is selling two photographic prints.

Limited Edition signed photographic print of still image taken from SHARP’s film ‘There will be no landing at the lighthouse tomorrow’ printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl paper.

Choose from a set of 5 different images, each image has hand embossed text from the accompanying prose within the film giving each print a unique finish.

The text is taken from a spoken word section of the film which intertwines a ‘cut up’ reading of Virgina Woolf’s 1927 novel ‘To the Lighthouse’ with new prose inspired by looking out to sea from the desolate landscape of Dungeness.

‘Waves’ photographic collage is inspired by Derek Jarman’s film Blue, taken from SHARP’s film exploring Queer Butch Blues with added hand embossed prose which was written while at the old coastguard lookout Dungeness.

I did not need to see through the binoculars as the distant views were already deep within me
